Course Description

NEW START LINE FOR 2002! The race begins in front of the Town Hall, across the Common area opposite the Library on Old Common Road. The course heads south on Old Common Road (the Town Hall is on the left, the Common is on the right).

About 1/10th of a mile from the start, the course goes right around the Common onto Main St (Route 31) heading north. It goes through the center of town with the library on the left and the Common on the right.

Heading towards Route 20, the course goes past the post office on North Main Street and takes the next left onto H. Putnam Road.

The one mile marker is on this road near the driveway to the St. Joseph's church.

The course goes left into Trolley Crossing with Howlett's Lumber on the left and Saver's Bank on the right.

At the bottom of the hill the course meets up with Route 31 again where it heads left up the hill back towards the center of town.

The two mile mark is almost at the top of the hill near the Masonic Home.

The course continues on Route 31 back through the center of town where the Common is now on the left and the Library is on the right.

Continuing through the center and down the hill it takes a right onto Flint Road.

The three mile marker is at the beginning of Flint Road.

The course continues on Flint Road for almost a mile before it takes a left turn onto Old Town Road.

This road brings you up a short (2/10 mile) but challenging hill where it intersects with Route 31.

The four mile marker is at this intersection where the course goes left onto Route 31.

The final 1/3 of a mile includes a challenging finish up Route 31 ending in front of the library.
